Marketplace role

Ships.trade is an information and communication platform for vessel sale listings, vessel purchase requests, search, and matching. Unless expressly agreed otherwise for a specific engagement, Ships.trade is not the vessel owner, seller, buyer, shipbroker, agent, classification society, insurer, escrow provider, financial adviser, or legal adviser, and is not a party to a transaction between users.

No ownership or authority guarantee

Publication of a listing does not prove vessel ownership, a contact's authority or mandate, the validity of a brokerage commission, the buyer's financing, or the vessel's continuing availability. A user, broker, owner, company, public source, partner source, or other data source may have supplied listing information.

Vessel and listing information

Ships.trade does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or currency of a vessel's identity, name, IMO or MMSI, flag, ownership, DWT, GT or GRT, dimensions, build year, class, survey status, condition, location, photographs, machinery, fuel consumption, cargo capacity, equipment, delivery date, price, or any other listing field.

An empty field means that information was not provided or is not publicly available; it does not mean zero. Do not describe a vessel as sold unless its listing is expressly marked as sold.

Prices and commercial terms

A displayed price may be indicative, negotiable, outdated, expressed as a range, stated in another currency, subject to a commission, or available only on request. Confirm the price, currency, commission, taxes, delivery terms, deposit instructions, and all other commercial terms directly with an authorized party before relying on them.

Verification and sanctions checks

Verification, identity, IMO, or sanctions checks are limited to the information and sources available when a check is performed. They can become outdated and may produce false positives or false negatives. A verification label is not an endorsement or a guarantee of identity, ownership, authority, condition, availability, or continuing sanctions compliance.

Ships.trade checks do not replace KYC, KYB, AML, beneficial-ownership, export-control, sanctions, or legal due diligence.

Translation, extraction, and matching

Translations and structured vessel characteristics may be generated automatically and may contain errors. Review the original supplied material whenever available. Similar-vessel and Wanted Request matching is approximate and does not confirm that technical, commercial, financing, or delivery requirements are compatible.

Independent due diligence

Before entering a transaction, independently verify at least:

the identity and authority of every contact;
ownership, beneficial ownership, mandates, liens, mortgages, and encumbrances;
vessel identity, flag, registration, class, surveys, records, specifications, and physical condition;
current availability, price, currency, commission, delivery, and transaction documents;
sanctions, AML, export-control, and other trade restrictions; and
payment and deposit instructions through an independently verified channel.

Obtain appropriate legal, technical, tax, financial, insurance, compliance, and maritime advice.

No transaction guarantee

Ships.trade does not guarantee a reply to a message, the solvency or conduct of a user, the safety of a deposit, successful inspection, contract performance, transaction completion, or the quality or suitability of a vessel.

Not for navigation or safety-critical use

Vessel positions, AIS data, voyage information, maps, and locations may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. They must not be used for navigation, collision avoidance, emergency response, or any safety-critical purpose.

Third-party content and services

References to third-party sources, links, documents, contacts, or services do not constitute endorsement by Ships.trade. Third parties are responsible for their own content, services, terms, and privacy practices.

Relationship with the Terms

This Disclaimer supplements the Terms of Use. If there is a conflict between this Disclaimer and the Terms of Use, the Terms of Use prevail.
